Growth, Yield and Economics of Rainfed Clusterbean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) as Influenced by Various Mechanized Weed Management Practices

Background: Clusterbean is one of the most important crop arid and semi-arid region India. It mainly grown for vegetable, manure, fodder seed purpose. Seeds clusterbean contain galactomann (stored in endosperm) which has industrial uses, thus making it major cash earner crop. Various biotic abiotic stresses affects during its growth stages. Among stresses, weeds are affecting yield. Due to initial slow intense crop-weed competition takes place upto 20-30 DAS if not managed properly there will be a severe yield reduction. Under Haryana conditions only manual weeding recommended time consuming expensive hence need exploit other methods weed control. Therefore, present study was conducted effect mechanical management on growth, economics clusterbean. Methods: A field experiment kharif season 2018 mechanized practices at Regional Research Station, Bawal (Rewari), CCS Agricultural University, Hisar. Experiment performed randomized block design with ten treatments three replication. Result: found that among various practices, two power weeder 20 35 under 60 cm row spacing resulted significantly higher plant height, leaf area index, dry matter accumulation, attributes comparison statistically par tractor drawn cultivator. The cultivator economical maximum net returns (Rs. 36076 ha-1) B:C (2.37) followed by fetched return Rs. 35868 ha-1 2.25. times interculture or beneficial farmers.
